Patent Pending · Working Prototype · Early-Access Trial Opens in November

Know who's actually driving. Not just who booked it.

VeriDrive confirms that the person unlocking your vehicle is the verified driver you approved, every time, and logs each unlock.

The gap nobody has closed

Rental platforms check a renter once, at booking. After that, a digital key opens the car for whoever holds the phone. That is where unauthorized drivers get in.

How it works

The owner stays in control. The car responds only to the driver the owner approved, for the window the owner set.

1

Owner invites a driver

Connect your Tesla, name the driver, and set the rental window from the Owner Dashboard.

2

Driver verifies identity

The driver confirms their identity with a government ID and a live face check, with consent captured in the app.

3

Car unlocks for that driver only

Every unlock is confirmed and logged. The owner sees who, when, and why any attempt was denied.

Built and working today

Who it is for

Hosts and owners

Know the person behind the wheel is the person you approved, without being there.

Rental operators and fleets

Reduce leakage from unauthorized drivers across more cars and more handoffs.

Platforms

Add identity at the moment of unlock, after the booking check.

From the founder

For 25 years, Jeff White has led, built, and secured complex IT systems that control who gets access to what, across federal cybersecurity, risk management, and digital transformation. He is also an entrepreneur inside large organizations: at Booz Allen, a Fortune 500 firm, he built and led a criminal justice and law enforcement portfolio that grew into a multi-million-dollar business. His work with law enforcement and national security taught him how far bad actors will go to cheat, lie, and steal. When he rented a car on Turo and realized, four hours into a seven-hour drive, that nobody had checked who was driving, he recognized the same weakness he had spent a career closing. Then he built the fix: VeriDrive.

Questions

Which vehicles does it work with?

Tesla today. Other brands are next.

Is it insurance?

No. VeriDrive verifies the driver and logs each unlock. It does not provide insurance, and the trial is a test, not for commercial rentals.

What do you collect, and for how long?

Drivers give their consent in the app before any ID or face check. During the trial we keep ID and face data for a limited time, then delete it. See the privacy notice for details.

Is it available now?

A working prototype exists. A limited early-access trial opens in November, and we are choosing participants from the applications we receive.
